Oreocactus fossulatus (celesianus)
Oreocereus fossulatus is synonymous with celesianus. Commonly called the old man of the Andes. Older specimens of this plant will be completely covered in fine hairs which have evolved to collect condensation from the mists that are their main source of moisture. It may also help to insulate the plant from snow by forming a barrier between the surface of the plant and the snow.
