At Fitzroy Nursery, we want you to be completely happy with your purchase. This policy outlines your rights and our obligations under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) regarding returns, exchanges, and refunds.


1. Consumer Guarantees (Your Rights Under the ACL)


Under Australian Consumer Law, you are entitled to a refund, replacement, or repair if a product you purchase:

  • Is faulty or unsafe,

  • Is significantly different from the description or sample,

  • Doesn’t do what we said it would do.

If the product is not faulty but you would like to return it, we offer exchange or store credit only, at our discretion, provided it meets the conditions below.


2. Return Conditions


To be eligible for an exchange or store credit:

  • You must provide a valid proof of purchase (e.g. receipt or order confirmation).

  • The item must be returned within 14 days of purchase.

  • The item must be unused, in its original condition and packaging (unless faulty).

We do not accept returns for:

  • Change of mind on sale items,

  • Products damaged through misuse, neglect, or failure to follow care instructions.

Live Plants


Due to the perishable nature of live plants, we do not accept returns or exchanges for live plants more than 7 days after purchase.
If your plant is damaged on arrival or shows signs of being unwell due to a fault, please contact us within 7 days with proof of purchase and clear photos so we can assess the issue.

Sale Items


All sale and clearance items are final sale. They cannot be returned, exchanged, or credited, unless they are faulty or fall under consumer guarantees.

3. Exchanges & Store Credit


If your return is approved (excluding faulty items), you may choose between:

  • An exchange for another product of equal or greater value (you may need to pay the difference), or

  • A store credit, with no expiry.

4. Refunds (Faulty Products Only)


Refunds are only available if the product is:

  • Faulty or defective,

  • Significantly different from its description,

  • Or otherwise fails to meet consumer guarantees under the ACL.

Once we inspect the item and confirm it is faulty, a refund will be issued to your original payment method. Please allow [e.g., 5–10 business days] for processing.

5. Shipping for Returns


We do not currently accept shipping for returns.
